Practical Steps into Alignment

These steps are not exhaustive, but I believe they are especially important as we seek God’s mind for 5787. Understanding the times must change how we live.
1. Grow up. Hebrews 11:24–26 says that when Moses had grown up, he refused the identity and privileges of Pharaoh’s household and chose to identify with God’s people. I see a connection between maturity and binah—understanding. We must grow beyond reacting to every feeling or choosing what is easiest. Maturity helps us discern what God is saying and take responsibility for our response.
2. Choose what is right. Understanding alone will not bring us into alignment if we keep choosing against what we know. Moses’ choice carried a cost. Sometimes the wrong choice offers more immediate comfort, money, or approval. The right choice is right because it agrees with God’s direction, even when the sacrifice is real. We must make that choice again and again.
3. Seek God with intentional persistence. Set time aside to pray, and keep seeking Him when answers do not come quickly. Let that commitment shape your Sundays too. If you have grown accustomed to worshiping only at home, find a church where you can gather regularly, be known, and serve. Hebrews 10:24–25 urges believers to meet together and encourage one another toward love and good works. Ask where God wants to plant you within the body.
Then take part in its work. Enjoy fellowship, but do not stop at attending events. Join people who are praying, serving, teaching, and reaching others with kingdom purpose.
Apply these steps this week. Name one area where you need to mature, one costly right choice you have delayed, and one concrete commitment to prayer and service. Take the first step, and keep taking it. I believe alignment with God’s mind will lead us out of fruitless toil and into the rest He intends.
Prayer
Father, help us grow up in faith. Give us binah to discern Your will, courage to choose rightly, and persistence to seek You. Plant us where we can serve with Your people. Bring our lives into alignment with Your purpose. Amen.
